To some, movies like “Top Gun” or the sequel are tipping the scales as far as aviation movies go. To others, something more introspective and serious like Twelve O’clock High sits higher up on their list. Regardless, we all have one thing in common. We love movies and tv shows with airplanes in them.
I have compiled a list of some of my favorite aviation movies and written a personal review of each to give you a better idea of what to expect if you decide to indulge. Or if you would simply like to have an open discussion; feel free to take a look and leave your own retrospective thoughts in the comments below the post.
I look forward to chatting with fellow aviation movie lovers.

William Holden, Lloyd Nolan, Virginia Leith. Holden stars in this drama about a Korean War POW trying to make a comeback as a test pilot.
Twelve O’clock High – (1959) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gregory Peck, Dean Jagger, Hugh Marlow. One of the best air action films ever made about WWII daylight bombing
